About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join our thriving Water Environment team. You will lead hydrological and hydraulic modelling on a diverse range of projects, mentor and develop other consultants, and build strong relationships with clients and regulators. Your role will include managing challenging projects, contributing to business development, preparing fee proposals, and controlling project budgets. You will be actively involved in design office activities, site meetings, inspections, and progress reporting. Effective communication with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities is essential to ensure project success. Your technical expertise will be applied to flood risk assessments and modelling using software such as Flood Modeler Pro or TUFLOW. Additionally, you will support bid preparation, research, and the strategic growth of the Water & Environment Team in the region.

Experience
Significant consultancy or industry experience as a senior modeller with strong expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modelling. Proven experience conducting flood risk assessments in line with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and, where applicable, Technical Advice Note 15 (TAN 15). Familiarity with Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities operational frameworks.
About you
A self-motivated team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of working autonomously while coordinating effectively with line management. Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders. Understanding of current planning policies and procedures, with the ability to leverage these to maximise client service and secure approvals. Experience in business development and bid preparation is desirable. Knowledge of the developer industry is considered an asset.
Qualifications
A strong Bachelor's degree in a water-related discipline is essential, ideally complemented by a higher degree. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant modelling software such as Flood Modeler Pro or TUFLOW is required.
