Reading, Hybrid – based at Clearwater Court, with 2–3 days per week expected onsite or in the office.

36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary
£55,000 to £65,000 per annum.
About the Role
Join Thames Water as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and play a key role in driving innovation in capital delivery. You will lead the delivery of high-impact capital projects, focusing on transforming and modernising sewage treatment works across the Thames Valley. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by championing engineering excellence, sustainability, and safety. You will ensure every project meets the highest standards while contributing to long-term improvements across the network.
Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality technical outcomes from Project Definition Briefs, maximising value through strong risk understanding and mitigation. You will contribute to and continually enhance Technical Asset Standards, provide design sign-off between Asset Management and Capital Delivery, and offer technical assurance throughout delivery, commissioning, and handover stages.

Experience
- Proven experience in project delivery within process-industry environments.
- Strong understanding of developing technical project solutions and briefs within mechanical engineering.
- Solid knowledge of health & safety requirements within the construction sector.
- Understanding of industrial processes relevant to mechanical engineering.
Qualifications
HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
