About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. The UK energy sector will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. This role is at the forefront of delivering complex projects and programmes focused on low-carbon technologies and infrastructure, increasing capacity on the electricity network and connecting new generation and storage into the grid.

Working closely with client and contractor teams, you will manage and drive project controls activities on major projects and programmes. Responsibilities include setting up project controls functions, delivering day-to-day services, and continuously improving existing operations to enhance productivity and performance across the portfolio.

The Senior Project Controls Manager will deliver a comprehensive project controls service incorporating reporting and management information, earned value management, cost and schedule variance analysis, estimates at completion, and critical path analysis during major project delivery. You will manage safe, high-quality, and compliant delivery while promoting inclusion and wellbeing.

Additional duties include developing and implementing PMO and project controls frameworks, supporting best-in-class service and stakeholder engagement, managing teams across cost, schedule, risk and reporting, contributing to long-term strategic improvement, mentoring teams, driving knowledge-sharing, and supporting resourcing and recruitment for the commission.

Experience
Degree qualified with seven years’ relevant experience in linear infrastructure delivery. Strong infrastructure project and programme delivery expertise. Proven commercial acumen and senior stakeholder management. Experienced leader with sustainability and carbon awareness.

Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Ability to manage and lead teams effectively, promote inclusion and wellbeing, and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications
Degree qualification required. Professional membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent is essential.
