About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. In the energy sector, the UK will need to invest up to £900 billion of capital expenditure to enable a net zero economy by 2050. This means delivering complex projects and programmes focused on low-carbon technologies and infrastructure safely, efficiently, and at pace.
Decarbonisation of energy is currently constrained by the capacity of, and connection to, the electricity network. This role will be at the forefront of increasing network capacity and connecting new generation and storage into the grid. Working closely with client and contractor teams, you will manage and drive project controls activities on major projects and programmes. This may include setting up project controls functions, delivering day-to-day services, and continuously improving existing operations to enhance productivity and performance across the portfolio.
The Senior Project Controls Manager’s prime responsibility is to deliver a comprehensive project controls service, incorporating reporting and management information, earned value management, cost and schedule variance, estimates at completion, and critical path analysis during the delivery of major projects. You will manage safe, high-quality, and compliant delivery while promoting inclusion and wellbeing. You will develop and implement PMO and project controls frameworks, support best-in-class service and stakeholder engagement, manage teams across cost, schedule, risk and reporting, and contribute to long-term strategic improvement. Mentoring teams, driving knowledge-sharing, and supporting resourcing and recruitment for the commission will also be key aspects of your role.
Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates. We are open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options where suitable within the role.
