About the Role
Are you a passionate Sustainability Consultant looking to make a significant impact? Do you thrive on shaping the future of decarbonisation and climate resilience for a diverse range of clients? Join Stantec’s highly influential Sustainability team and play a key role in the development and delivery of a pipeline of exciting and complex projects. You will work with a variety of clients including local authorities, universities, masterplan developers, and asset managers, helping shape their approach to achieving a decarbonised and climate-resilient future.
In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design measures and energy and carbon reduction initiatives. This includes leading workshops, attending meetings, and identifying the most impactful areas to influence decision-makers and foster improvement. You will prepare high-quality energy, sustainability, and climate change reports to advise clients and project teams, supporting planning applications and masterplan developments. Your responsibilities will also include effective data management, setting up and maintaining robust project databases and calculation sheets.
Additionally, you will participate in external expert forums to advance and standardise environmental sustainability performance quantification and contribute to training and upskilling junior team members on relevant workstreams and project management activities.

Experience
- Proven track record as a Sustainability Consultant with experience in project delivery, client engagement, project management, and financial/people management
- Comprehensive understanding of building environmental design and sustainability at various scales
- Proven experience in building environmental modelling, building physics, and sustainability models such as energy modelling, overheating, and daylight/sunlight analysis
- Proficiency with IES modelling tools including Radiance, ApacheSIM, SBEM, and Macroflow; knowledge of Apache HVAC is advantageous but not essential
- Experience working with master planning and planning across a range of asset classes, ideally mixed-use projects, including energy strategy development
- Experience delivering planning reports against Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) across the UK, particularly Greater London Authority (GLA) policy requirements and applying GLA policy in different contexts
- Appetite for involvement in wider sustainability disciplines such as whole lifecycle carbon, circular economy, climate risk, and adaptation encouraged

Qualifications
