About the Role
Equans is seeking a Maintenance & Building Services Technician to join our team in Central London. This full-time role involves providing essential support to the Engineering Team, including out-of-hours work when required. You will assist with compliance and statutory inspections, fabric maintenance, reactive repairs, and FCU maintenance. The role also includes supporting furniture moves and changes, meeting room setups, event management, exhibitions, and flat pack furniture assembly. Additional responsibilities include painting, decorating, shelving erection, installation of power and data cabling, and general engineering support such as air filter replacements, water hygiene checks, fire alarm tests, and electrical shutdowns. You will carry out daily site inspections, report defects, support health & safety updates, and assist with quality assurance, compliance checks, and housekeeping both front and back of house. Responding to CAFM tasks, submitting paperwork timely, and supporting servicing and breakdowns related to fabric and handyman tasks are also key duties.

Experience
Good knowledge and experience of MEP services and fabric repair techniques. Basic electrical work knowledge or willingness to be trained. Experience or qualifications in carpentry, building, or general building services preferred.

About You
Ability to work shifts on a 4 on 4 off 12-hour schedule (7am-7pm) and be available for overtime. Willingness to obtain a recognized health and safety qualification if not already held. Basic understanding of L8 or willingness to be trained. Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively within a team environment.

Qualifications
Carpentry/building/general qualifications in building services desirable. Willingness to obtain health and safety qualifications as required. Right to work in the UK is essential. Some roles require Disclosure checks or security vetting; a criminal record will not necessarily prevent employment.
