About the Role
Equans is seeking a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis working on the Mobile South contract. You will be accountable for ensuring all Spaces, Environmental/Temperature Control rooms and equipment are available for end users, minimising downtime during breakdowns. Your responsibilities will include fault finding on all A/C units, refrigeration systems, and chiller plant on site, maintaining the site’s F-Gas logbook, recording losses, recoveries and additions, and ensuring all GWPs and CO2e’s are calculated with leak checks carried out at correct frequencies. You will maintain and operate portable and fixed air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, plan and oversee subcontractors during service visits, recover, repair, pressure test, vacuum dehydrate, charge and re-commission A/C units as required, and ensure PPM and reactive jobs are processed. The role requires availability for out-of-hours call-out support.

You will work on a variety of equipment including chillers (wet and dry systems), cold rooms and freezers, air conditioning systems (VAV, VRV, FAT boxes), cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, water treatment, building management systems, and control systems.

Experience
Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to defined criteria. Fully conversant with all major manufacturers’ systems and equipment. Experience working with refrigeration systems, chillers, and air conditioning units is essential.

About you
Reliable and proactive with strong fault-finding skills. Ability to read and work to mechanical and electrical schematic drawings. Must hold a valid driving licence. Ability to pass a DBS Basic check is essential. Commitment to health and safety and working collaboratively within a team environment.

Qualifications
Recognised EITB, CITB apprenticeship or similar approved training/further education in a relevant discipline. Minimum NVQ Level 2 qualification as an air conditioning engineer. C&G Award in 2079-11 F-Gas Cat 1 and ODS regulations. L8 Awareness. Recognised Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is advantageous.
