About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our water treatment team as a Site Performance Manager. This demanding but rewarding role is based at one of our key operational sites — one of our largest water production facilities, providing high-quality drinking water to approximately 3.5 million customers.
As a Site Performance Manager, you will ensure that Thames Water employees and contractors work in a safe and secure environment, going home safely and well at the end of each day. You will be responsible for achieving planned availability and reliability of water production sites in terms of quality and quantity, while managing costs effectively.
You will lead your team to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers, working towards an improved Service Incentive Mechanism (SIM) score. Budgetary control in line with financial procedures (OPEX & CAPEX) will be a key part of your role. You will ensure individuals understand their performance expectations through the company’s Performance Development Review (PDR) process and foster a motivated, valued, and engaged team.
Additionally, you will maintain and contribute to a succession plan as part of the wider Water Production team, supporting the ongoing development and resilience of the operation.
Experience
Previous process knowledge gained through hands-on development is essential. Demonstrable leadership qualities, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required. Experience working collaboratively as a team player is important, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
About you
You will be a great team player with strong leadership skills and a calm demeanour under pressure. You must be able to motivate and engage your team effectively. A full UK driving licence is required.
Qualifications
A qualification in the Management of Water Production is highly desirable. Training such as IOSH or NEBOSH is also highly desirable.
