About the Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the solar PV portfolio through performance monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis and accurate reporting. You will maximise plant availability and energy production while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance. The role requires regular travel across the UK to operational sites and involves coordinating with contractors and internal teams to maintain and improve system performance. Key responsibilities include carrying out scheduled maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, monitoring plant performance via SCADA and remote platforms, planning site visits, supervising contractors, and producing detailed reports. You will work closely with performance analysts and engineering teams to investigate and resolve technical issues, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures. Requirements

Experience
- At least two years’ experience in solar PV, electrical maintenance or renewable energy.
- Experience maintaining and fault-finding on commercial, ground-mounted or utility-scale solar PV systems.
- Knowledge of inverters, strings, AC/DC systems, meters, monitoring platforms and SCADA.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and complete accurate maintenance reports.
- Working knowledge of RAMS, Permit-to-Work procedures, electrical isolation and safe systems of work.
- Ability to work independently and manage activities across multiple sites.

About you
- Strong technical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly, including occasional overnight and out-of-hours work.
- Committed to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Able to coordinate and supervise third-party contractors effectively.

Qualifications
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification, or equivalent.
- An engineering degree, BS 7671 qualification, HV experience and relevant solar PV, inspection and testing, thermography, IPAF or PASMA certifications would be advantageous.
