About the Role
Lead and coordinate the integration of sustainability, net-zero carbon, and climate resilience across the Combined Authority’s Asset Management function. Turn strategic intent into deliverable programmes and measurable results. Drive the Authority’s Climate Emergency commitments by setting clear pathways and standards across the asset lifecycle, managing environmental and climate risks, and ensuring every asset, new and existing, contributes demonstrably to local, regional, and national targets.

Experience
- Proven experience implementing sustainability or climate initiatives in the built environment or public sector.
- Understanding of funding opportunities such as the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) or Green Heat Network Fund.
- Experience working in or with local authorities or combined authorities.
About You
An accomplished sustainability professional with a strong track record in the built environment and the credibility to influence multi-disciplinary teams and suppliers. You will demonstrate a collaborative, outcomes-focused approach aligned to public-sector values and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders to deliver tangible impact across a high-profile regional portfolio.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree and/or professional accreditation such as IEMA, CEnv, or engineering.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as PAS 2080, BREEAM, and MEES.
- Advanced analytical skills to support strategic and operational decision-making.
