About the Role
Are you enthusiastic about increasing access to and participation in walking, wheeling and cycling across the Liverpool City Region? Would you like to make a real difference to how people move around the City Region, both now and in the future?

As a graduate Active Travel Officer in the Active Travel team, you will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects within the team’s portfolio. The Active Travel Team delivers a wide range of programmes and projects across the Liverpool City Region with the aim of encouraging and enabling the take-up of active travel and supporting the growth of the City Region’s walking, wheeling and cycling network.

You will help deliver the Metro Mayor’s ambition for walking, wheeling and cycling to become the preferred ways of travelling shorter distances by the people of Liverpool City Region. You will support efforts to make active travel easier by improving connections between public transport hubs, such as railway stations, and walking and cycling routes, contributing to the mayor’s vision for a London-style, integrated transport system.

Your role will involve working on projects that engage directly with schools, pupils, parents/carers and the local community, as well as promoting and supporting the development and delivery of new infrastructure. You will collaborate with Constituent Local Authorities and funding partners such as Active Travel England.

You will assist project officers in reviewing active travel schemes, supporting the Design Review process, and ensuring that active travel infrastructure is of high quality.

Alongside technical support, you will help the team develop and implement efficiency and process improvements critical to achieving service area objectives.

Please note this is a two-year fixed-term appointment.
