About the Role
Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects? Join AECOM as a Technical Director in Environmental Impact Assessment within our Environment & Sustainability business, comprising over 650 staff across the UK and Ireland. You will lead multidisciplinary environmental inputs to large-scale development projects that support the UK’s net zero goals, including energy generation (carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables), energy distribution, strategic rail, highways, regeneration, ecommerce, minerals and waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.

You will oversee environmental inputs throughout all project stages from early strategy and site identification, feasibility, optioneering, design, consenting, construction, to operation and maintenance. Your portfolio will cover multiple consenting regimes such as DCO, TCPA, TWA, and hybrid Bills. You will also play a key role in business development and client relationship management, working closely with technical experts within our established Environmental Impact team.

As a founding member of the IEMA EIA Quality Mark, AECOM aligns all work with our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. Your leadership will include directing technical reviews, managing staff resources and budgets, collaborating with integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints and develop mitigation solutions, and mentoring staff to foster growth and excellence.

At AECOM, you will benefit from a dynamic, inclusive workplace that champions integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, and pioneering mindset, with access to industry-leading technology and transformational projects that create sustainable legacies for generations to come.
