38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 3:45 pm; with 1 week out of 5 on the night shift from 9:00 pm - 5:30 am; with opportunity to be included on standby rota.
Salary
£27,465 - £34,200 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
As a Trunk Sewer Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating the sewer network and its associated assets while performing basic mechanical maintenance and fault finding. Your daily tasks will include completing planned, emergency, and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network, physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets (e.g., penstock gates), operation of plant and equipment, and cleaning, basic maintenance, and fault-finding. Please note that this role requires working in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting heavy loads; training will be provided.
Experience
Previous experience in maintenance is advantageous, particularly with a mechanical bias. Previous qualifications are desirable.
About you
You must be physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily, as you will complete manual handling activities to operate large mechanical assets and perform grounds maintenance. A proactive approach to work and the ability to work positively and effectively within a team environment are essential. You should be a keen and motivated team member, able to demonstrate initiative and a flexible approach to work. A valid UK driving licence is ideal but not essential; HGV training can be provided. Willingness to work on a shift pattern, including 1 week of nights in 5 and completing an out-of-hours call-out rota is required. For health and safety reasons, you will be required to be clean-shaven to wear respiratory protective equipment (RPE) correctly.
