Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6:30 am – 3:45 pm; one week out of five on night shift from 9:00 pm – 5:30 am. Opportunity to join the standby rota with additional payment.

Salary
Starting from £27,465 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

About the Role
We are seeking a Trunk Sewer Technician to join our Strategic Pumping & Trunks Operations Team covering South London. You will be responsible for maintaining and operating the sewer network and its associated assets, carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and fault finding. The role involves working in confined spaces and some of London’s most challenging subterranean environments.
- Complete planned, emergency, and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network.
- Perform physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets such as penstock gates.
- Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct cleaning, basic maintenance, and fault-finding tasks.
- Mandatory work in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting heavy loads; full training will be provided.

Requirements

Experience
- Previous maintenance experience or similar role is advantageous but not essential.
- HGV training can be provided.

About you
- Physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily, including manual handling and operating large mechanical assets.
- Proactive, motivated, and able to work effectively within a team.
- Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in approach to work.
- Must be clean-shaven to wear respiratory protective equipment (RPE) correctly.
- Holds a full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required; a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety are essential.
