Hours
6:30 am – 3:45 pm, with 1 week out of 5 on night shift from 9:00 pm – 5:30 am. Participation in an out-of-hours standby rota is required, with additional payment.
Salary
From £27,465 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role
Working as part of a team of 5, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the Victorian trunk sewer network in London. This manual, safety-focused role involves routine maintenance, investigations, and safety cover across North and East London. Key duties include physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets such as penstock gates, operating plant and equipment, cleaning, basic maintenance, and fault-finding. The role requires working in confined spaces (with CP2 confined space rescue qualification), at heights, and lifting heavy loads. You will work closely with your team members in a challenging environment, mainly outdoors and underground.

Experience
Previous manual labour experience is essential. Drainage knowledge and a mechanical background are advantageous.
About you
You must be physically fit and comfortable working in water, at heights, and within confined sewer spaces. You will work outdoors and underground year-round in a challenging environment. You must be clean-shaven at all times due to safety equipment requirements and weigh less than 110kgs to operate lifting equipment for man-riding. A full manual UK driving licence is essential; a 7.5t licence is desirable. You will be required to participate in a pre-employment medical assessment.
Qualifications
Mandatory to work in confined spaces, including obtaining a CP2 confined space rescue qualification. Other qualifications are not specified but relevant safety and operational training will be provided.
