About the Role
We are recruiting for 9 Waste and Cleansing Driver posts to join our dedicated Blitz Team within Nottingham City Council's Waste and Cleansing service. The Blitz Team operates Monday to Friday on a 14:00 to 22:00 shift pattern, providing a rapid response to environmental issues across Nottingham. The successful candidates will be responsible for removing fly-tipping from council-owned land, undertaking a range of street cleansing activities, and supporting other frontline environmental services as required. This is a physically demanding, customer-focused role that plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The role requires flexibility to support operational priorities, including street cleansing, environmental improvement work, and assisting other Council services when needed. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in improving local neighbourhoods and delivering high-quality public services.

Experience
- Full UK driving licence for vehicles up to and including 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight (C1 entitlement to drive up to 7.5 tonnes is desirable)
- Experience working in waste management, street cleansing, environmental services, grounds maintenance, highways, logistics, or a similar frontline operational environment
- Experience driving work vehicles safely and carrying out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements, safe working practices, manual handling techniques, and maintaining a safe working environment
- Experience using handheld devices, mobile technology or digital systems to record work activities and report issues

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are specified; however, a full UK driving licence is essential and C1 entitlement is desirable.
