About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Waste & Cleansing HGV/LGV Driver to join Nottingham City Council’s frontline team. In this role, you will be more than just a driver – you will lead and support a crew of up to 4 operatives, mentoring new drivers and ensuring essential services run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include driving and taking responsibility for Waste & Cleansing vehicles (up to HGV), delivering a wide range of services such as refuse collection, recycling, street cleansing, and winter gritting support. You will carry out daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance, and keep vehicles roadworthy and presentable. Using in-cab systems, you will help keep services efficient and responsive. This role requires flexibility to work across Nottingham and surrounding areas in all weather conditions as part of a dedicated public service team. Experience
Experience and knowledge of the safe operation and driving of vehicles such as refuse collection vehicles, gritters, and mainline sweepers is essential.

Qualifications
- Hold a Category C (HGV Class II) driving licence
- Have a valid Driver CPC card
