About the Role
Join AECOM's multidisciplinary water environment team as a Water Science Graduate from Summer 2026. You will work alongside specialists in hydrogeology, hydrology, hydro-morphological water quality, and water resource management, supporting projects for a wide range of public and private sector clients including the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, Highways England, Natural England, Water Utilities, Rivers and Wildlife Trusts, commercial developers, and overseas clients. The team is involved in major infrastructure projects such as HS2 and the Thames Tideway Tunnel, coordinating water environment chapters in Environmental Statements and Water Framework Directive assessments.
This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in surface water environments including fluvial, estuarine, lake, and marine settings. Your work will cover hydrological, water quality, hydro-morphological, and hydro-ecological activities across diverse projects such as water quality baseline and impact studies, nutrient loading and pollution monitoring and modelling, flood and drought investigations, channel restoration and Natural Flood Management, environmental compliance and permitting, and Environmental Impact Assessments for various development types.
Health, safety, and environmental considerations underpin all work. You will be actively involved in client contact and commercial aspects of projects, supported by a senior mentor and the 2-year graduate ADVANCE development programme designed to build your career and professional skills, including potential Chartership with CIWEM.
Enjoy a flexible hybrid working model, career development opportunities, technical networks, AECOM University training, and volunteering days as part of a supportive and inclusive global team committed to delivering a better world.
