Salcey Forest Visitor Centre, Forestry England, Wootton Road, Hartwell, Northampton, NN7 2HX.

Hours
37 hours per week, including mandatory weekend and bank holiday working on a rolling pattern agreed with the successful applicant.

Salary
£30,105 per annum

About the Role
Join Forestry England, a passionate team dedicated to growing the nation’s forests and creating amazing places and experiences for everyone. As an Active Forest Coordinator, you will curate a diverse programme of physical activity, health, and wellbeing experiences within the nation’s forests. Your role will focus on creating and facilitating engaging activities for new and returning visitors as part of the innovative Active Forests programme. You will help enhance visitor wellbeing by promoting physical activity and fostering meaningful connections to nature. A key part of your role will involve supporting the Recreation offer at Salcey Forest, ensuring facilities are safe and enjoyable through inspections and maintenance work. This is a permanent position contributing to vital environmental and community benefits, including providing homes for wildlife, cleaner air, and sustainable timber production.

Requirements

Experience
Relevant experience in coordinating physical activity, health, or wellbeing programmes is desirable. Experience working in outdoor or recreational environments is advantageous.

You are enthusiastic and passionate about promoting health and wellbeing through nature. You have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. You are flexible and willing to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rolling schedule. You are committed to maintaining safe and enjoyable recreational facilities and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications
There are no specific qualifications required; however, relevant experience and a commitment to professional development are important. Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal record check and government baseline personnel security standard check. Candidates must have the ability to converse in accurate spoken English.
