About the Role
Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Arboriculturist to join our team of consultant arboriculturists and landscape architects. You will work on a diverse range of projects including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, large-scale renewable energy projects (solar, offshore and onshore wind, international interconnector, energy storage), as well as commercial, residential, retail, leisure, and major infrastructure developments across the UK.
Working closely with colleagues in the Landscape Team, multi-disciplinary teams, and clients, you will solve problems and deliver successful project outcomes. Your work will include both site and desk-based activities such as:
- Conducting tree surveys in accordance with BS5837 using tablet-based data capture software
- Writing and collating tree-related reports, schedules, and plans including Tree Surveys, Impact Assessments (AIA), and Method Statements (AMS)
- Advising project teams and clients on tree-related matters
- Attending project and client meetings
In the short term, you will establish strong working relationships within the Arboriculture and Landscape Team and contribute immediately to project delivery and fee earning work. You will take responsibility for project management and invoicing as appropriate.
Over the medium term, you will develop your career with greater responsibility for managing larger arboriculture projects and client relationships, supporting profitable project outcomes. You will also collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines to support bids and secure new commissions.
In the long term, subject to performance, there are opportunities to progress into management roles within the Arboriculture and Landscape Team.

Experience
- Proven experience conducting tree surveys in accordance with BS5837
- Experience preparing tree-related reports including Impact Assessments (AIA) and Method Statements (AMS)
- Competent user of AutoCAD and tablet-based survey software; training provided for AxciScape software
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects and collaborating with diverse teams
- Ability to manage small to medium sized projects with good organisational and project management skills
- Comfortable working independently to meet project deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
About you
- Excellent understanding of BS5837:2012 ‘Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction – Recommendations’
- Strong tree identification skills and knowledge of tree morphology and management
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, and project teams
- Valid driving licence is essential
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes
Qualifications
- Relevant arboriculture qualifications or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or similar tree-related software is required
