As an Asset Planner, you will own the plan for your sites and systems and stay involved in the plans as they are delivered through the sponsorship model. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development of integrated site plans by facilitating cross-functional collaboration, identifying interdependencies, and determining the optimal sequencing of interventions.
- Continuously updating and maintaining comprehensive site and system-level plans, adapting to project changes and reflecting evolving priorities across the asset lifecycle.
- Gathering long-term strategic input from Asset Strategy to inform Price Review 29 planning and ensure alignment with future needs.
- Developing and prioritising projects for current and future 5-yearly Asset Management Periods (AMPs), incorporating engineering insights and defining technical scope for robust submissions to decision gates.
- Creating and managing system-wide plans across abstraction, treatment, storage, pumping, and sludge assets—addressing capital maintenance, growth, enhancement, and quality goals.
- Delivering on capital maintenance plans and ensuring efficient spend in relation to asset health and supporting our Outcome Delivery Incentives.
- Monitoring and evaluating asset condition, maintenance standards, and anticipated failure rates.
- Supporting external engagement activities, helping stakeholders understand and align with our strategic plans.
Experience
- Knowledge of asset management, engineering best practices, and planning/forecasting.
- Analytical and confident with numbers, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply.
- Experience working flexibly across multiple workstreams and responding to changes in focus.
- Understanding of risk management.
About you
- Confident communicator who builds strong relationships across teams and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and able to influence across all levels while considering different views.
- Knowledgeable about water and wastewater systems and external impacts is advantageous.
- Ideally understands regulatory processes such as price reviews or annual returns.
Qualifications
- Professional membership of an engineering, environmental, or asset management organisation is an advantage.
