About the Role
We are looking to recruit a Yard Person to work at our storage and distribution site at Crossness STW, East London. You will play an important role within the Thames Water Inventory and Supply team, managing the storage and distribution of equipment, critical materials, field engineering parts & tools, and mobile plant. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean, safe, and tidy working environment within the yard; ensuring all plant, equipment, and materials are correctly stored, secured, maintained, and accounted for; and making sure all items are clearly labelled and readily available. You will engage with front-line operational teams to ensure the issuing and returning of Thames Water stock follows established processes. Additionally, you will ensure waste is disposed of according to Thames Water's Waste Management process and carry out regular monitoring and reporting, including stock takes, inspections, and audits on a weekly and monthly basis. You will also ensure all vehicles within the yard and depot adhere to the Thames Water site safety and traffic management plan, record and report any Health & Safety discrepancies, and actively participate in team meetings to maintain safe working practices, promote site pride, and support continuous improvement processes.

Experience
Experience in manual handling, stock control, depot and yard management is required. Forklift licence and/or Tele-handler qualification is desirable. Awareness of health and safety and experience working in a safety-critical environment is preferred.
About you
You should have good knowledge of safe operational practices, including the operation of vehicles and equipment and methods of loading and off-loading. You must be happy to work outside in all weather conditions and be committed to maintaining a safe and tidy working environment.
Qualifications
While no specific qualifications are mandatory, possession of a forklift licence and/or Tele-handler qualification is advantageous.
