About the Role
BRE is seeking a Certification Project Manager to join the Fire Detection and Testing / Electronic Security team. This customer-facing role involves managing product approval projects from initial enquiry through to final sign-off. You will collaborate closely with customers, internal laboratories, technical colleagues, approval agencies, and accreditation bodies to ensure projects are scoped, progressed, and completed in line with relevant approval, testing, and compliance requirements.

You do not need prior certification project management experience but should have an electronics qualification or background and be interested in moving into certification, technical approvals, and customer-facing project management. This role is ideal for someone with technical knowledge who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, coordinating activities, and bringing structure to complex technical processes.

Key responsibilities include scoping new projects, preparing quotations, reviewing technical product documentation, compiling and verifying test programmes and approval files, reviewing test reports, supporting customers in compliance understanding, resolving approval or testing issues, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting delivery in line with LPCB schemes, Construction Products Regulation requirements, and internal processes.

Experience
- Product approvals, certification, compliance, or technical project management
- Fire detection, fire testing, electronic security, life safety systems, construction products, or product testing
- Reviewing technical documentation, test reports, and approval files
- Working with laboratories, certification bodies, approval schemes, or regulated technical processes
- Managing multiple customer-facing projects or technical workstreams
- Supporting customers, suppliers, or internal teams to resolve technical or compliance issues

Qualifications
Electronics qualification, electronics engineering background, apprenticeship, BTEC, or similar technical foundation preferred, especially if you are looking to develop into a certification and approvals role.
