An opportunity for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join a built environment consultancy helping clients improve the quality and sustainability of the built environment. You will work with prestigious clients across several sectors while developing your career within a growing building surveying team.

Role Overview

As a Chartered Building Surveyor you will provide professional advice and technical support across a range of national property portfolios.

You will divide your time between the organisation’s London headquarters and client sites, delivering a mixture of office-based and project work. Your work will include preparing project briefs, producing designs and specifications, administering building contracts and providing professional surveying services.

Working closely with clients, contractors and consultants, you will build strong relationships and support the delivery and financial management of projects. As the team grows, you will also help mentor junior colleagues and support them with developing their skills and managing project workloads.

The position requires travel to client sites throughout the UK.

Important Eligibility Information

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

• Experience advising on commercial, retail or education-sector properties within the public or private sector

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project briefs with clients and senior colleagues

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key client accounts

• Produce designs, specifications and tender documentation

• Administer Joint Contracts Tribunal building contracts

• Undertake condition surveys and defect analysis

• Provide party wall and dilapidations consultancy

• Complete reinstatement cost assessments

• Work closely with clients, contractors and other consultants

• Support business-development activity within the building surveying team

• Assist the Team Leader with project financial management

• Mentor junior colleagues and support their professional development

• Help junior team members manage project workloads

Essential Requirements

• Strong Microsoft Office skills

• Effective communication and relationship-building skills

• Commercial awareness

• Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors and consultants

• Ability to provide clear professional and technical advice

Salary: Up to £60000 per year DOE
