About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Costain’s growing Water team of over 140 Civil & Structural Engineers and Designers. The Water department delivers a wide range of projects from Concept Studies through to Detailed Design, offering varied and interesting work. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects in the Water Sector, responsible for key design elements including 3D design, calculations, scope of works, and specifications. You will manage resources, prioritise and sequence work, support colleagues, and drive design delivery progress. Collaboration with suppliers, designers, construction teams, and clients is essential to produce robust and safe design outputs. This role supports Costain’s sustainability targets and promotes a culture of safety and continuous learning.

Experience
- Proven postgraduate experience within the UK water industry across all project lifecycle stages.
- Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements across multiple industries.
- Understanding of UK legislation, standards, and HSE requirements.
- Experience working with multi-discipline teams and supporting junior engineers is desirable.
- Knowledge of water industry standards and processes is advantageous.

About you
- Ability to manage work packages to meet cost, time, and quality targets.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage in technical reviews, meetings, and presentations.
- Proactive approach to safety, risk identification, and management.
- Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (UK citizen or 5 years UK residence).
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications
- Minimum BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Working towards Chartered status or Incorporation with ICE or IStructE.
- CSCS or CCNSG certification.
