About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to significantly impact the development and modernisation of our Wastewater Non-Infrastructure (WWNI). As a Construction Assurance Engineer, you will ensure the quality and compliance of wastewater (Non-infra) construction projects through regular site inspections, design and delivery review support, risk and issue identification, and collaborative problem-solving with stakeholders. You will focus on the construction phase, assessing and reporting project progress, rectifying issues, assisting project managers, and leading escalation processes when necessary. Your responsibilities include reviewing documentation such as RAMS and CPP, overseeing construction activities from conception to completion, and monitoring compliance with asset standards, safety, environmental, quality standards, and wider regulations.
Post-takeover, you will manage snags, documentation, liaise on defects, and oversee performance testing. You will actively contribute to project teams, ensure proper handover documentation, and carry out regular health and safety audits to address relevant issues. This role requires a hybrid working pattern with 3-4 days on site at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works.
Experience
- Background in a similar engineering or construction assurance role
- Experience in project delivery and integration within the construction sector
- Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites is desirable
- Wastewater industry experience is an advantage

Qualifications
- HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or equivalent experience
- SMSTS qualification can be provided if not currently held
