About the Role
We are seeking a talented Consultant Arboriculturist to join Tetra Tech’s well-established environment business and help grow our arboricultural team. You will work closely alongside our multi-award winning ecology and natural capital teams, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including Residential, Defence, Energy, Government Services, and Transport. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical skills and career within a defined pathway while working on exciting, ground-breaking projects.

As part of a multidisciplinary consultancy, you will collaborate regularly with colleagues from Planning, Placemaking, Engineering, Transportation, and Asset Management teams. You will be proactive in developing relationships across the business, supporting projects from tendering through to delivery.

Your responsibilities will include conducting BS 5837 arboricultural surveys, veteran and ancient tree assessments, visual tree assessments, safety and risk surveys, and providing management advice. You will prepare a variety of reports such as tree survey schedules, Tree Constraints and Opportunities Plans, Management Plans, Impact Assessments, and Method Statements. Liaising with local authorities regarding tree protection legislation, supervising site works, advising clients, preparing fee proposals and tenders, and undertaking quality assurance of reports will also be key aspects of your role.

We operate a fully flexible, hybrid working model focused on talent and skills rather than location, allowing you to choose where, how, and when you work as long as client expectations are met. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements to support your personal and professional needs.

- Proven experience conducting BS 5837 surveys and reporting, including use of surveying equipment and digital tools.

- Experience in quality assurance and producing high-quality technical outputs.
- Ability to liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders.

About you
- Ambitious and driven to grow and develop an arboricultural team.
- Proactive in building relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Confident in adapting technical knowledge to meet specific client and project requirements.
- Committed to delivering high-quality service and professional advice.
- Flexible and open to hybrid working arrangements.
