About the Role
Join a growing arboriculture team collaborating with award-winning ecology and natural capital specialists. Use your field expertise to shape projects across sectors including residential, defence, energy, transport, and government. You will deliver BS 5837 surveys, veteran and visual tree assessments, safety and risk surveys, and provide expert arboricultural advice. Responsibilities include preparing tree constraints and opportunities plans, management plans, impact assessments, and method statements; liaising with local authorities on Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and conservation areas; supervising site works; producing fee proposals and tenders; and supporting the Natural Capital team.

Your technical assessments and management advice will directly influence development design, protect valuable trees and habitats, and reduce project risk. You will improve project outcomes through clear, evidence-based reporting, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement, while helping build an effective arboriculture capability across the business.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience delivering BS 5837 surveys and reporting. Strong tree identification skills including pests, diseases, and fungi. Experience in line-management and quality assurance. Proven ability to produce concise, defensible reports, tree schedules, management plans, and impact assessments. Experience liaising with local authorities regarding TPOs and Conservation Areas. Experience supervising site works and preparing competitive fee proposals.

About you
Confident in field survey and tree assessment using digital tools and recognised methods. Strong stakeholder liaison and regulatory knowledge. Ability to manage projects and site tasks to time and budget. Leadership skills to recruit, train, and line-manage staff, fostering skills development and cross-team collaboration. Flexible and adaptable to a hybrid working environment with regular site visits.

Qualifications
Minimum Level 4 qualification in arboriculture (QCF) or equivalent. Full UK driving licence required.
