About the Role
Join Tetra Tech and shape sustainable waste and resource solutions that influence policy, infrastructure and service delivery across the UK. Work with a market-leading team on technically demanding permitting, compliance and advisory projects, with clear career pathways beyond the next promotion. You will prepare environmental permit applications and associated technical submissions, provide bid support and deliver specialist advice on operating techniques, environmental risk assessments and management plans. The role spans assessment of Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Appropriate Measures, drafting ISOS/ISDS/ISFT submissions for local authority contracts, and supporting wider waste and resource management projects across the team’s portfolio. As a Senior/Principal Consultant you will strengthen client delivery, raise technical standards and contribute to business growth. Your permit applications and technical outputs will directly inform investment, operations and regulatory decisions, while your developing leadership will support team capability and long-term succession planning. Tetra Tech is a leading provider of consulting and engineering services working across the full project lifecycle worldwide. We provide a collaborative environment that supports individual performance, innovation, and creativity, supporting public and private sector clients on local, national, and international projects to deliver sustainable and resilient solutions. In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, reasonable adjustments will be made to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements during recruitment or in day-to-day roles.

Experience
Proven experience preparing environmental permits, operating techniques and risk assessments. Knowledge of BAT/Appropriate Measures and local authority waste contract submissions. Experience in bid and contract submissions including ISOS, ISDS, ISFT and other tender materials.

About you
Strong technical expertise with the ability to lead clear, compliant environmental permit applications and risk assessments. Excellent client and project management skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and coordinate project delivery. Motivated to contribute to business growth and support team development through mentoring and coaching. Flexible and willing to travel as required across the UK. Commitment to continuous professional development and progression toward senior roles and chartership.

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Working towards or holding CIWM chartership is desirable. Full UK driving licence required.
