About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Design Manager to bring technical expertise to a range of significant water and wastewater projects. You will guide and oversee technical delivery, forming close working relationships with clients such as Wessex Water, South West Water, Welsh Water, and Thames Water. This role involves driving the multi-disciplinary technical delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects through all design stages, from feasibility to asset management.
You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to develop exceptional technical solutions and manage key packages of work from conception to handover. Acting as the primary technical interface, you will mentor team members and have the opportunity for line management responsibilities. Experience
- Extensive experience in water or wastewater engineering, including treatment schemes and/or network design with multi-disciplinary knowledge.
- Proven track record in leading the technical delivery of projects, collaborating with engineers, specialists, clients, and contractors.
- Experience working with water companies or consultancies.
- Strong client and contractor relationship management skills.
- Experience in quality assurance reviews of deliverables.
- Ability to support business development activities including bids and fee proposals.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline such as civil, electrical, or mechanical.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with ICE, CIWEM, or similar professional body.
- Relevant professional experience in a similar role within the water sector.
