£36,500 starting salary with potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE including bonus and on-call payments

About the Role

As a Smart Meter Engineer, you will represent our brands in customers’ homes, fitting dual fuel meters and demonstrating how their meter and in-home display work. You will explain how these devices can help customers save energy and answer any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you will be supported by an office team sharing the same performance goals, ensuring we work as one team. You will also benefit from Octopus Energy’s advanced technology, enabling streamlined processes that reduce admin time and allow you to focus on delivering excellent service.
Additional earnings include £2,500 annual performance bonus, fit bonuses, £25 per week lunch allowance, company vehicle, fuel and tools, 600 share options in Octopus Energy Group, referral programme, company pension, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, health & wellbeing programme, and opportunities to up-skill in renewable technologies such as Electric Vehicles and Heat Pumps.
For every asset installed beyond your sixth, you will earn an additional £15.
Call-out and Overtime payments include a £250 retainer for call-out weeks, door-to-door pay if called out, £50 for attending Saturday work, £70 for dual fuel installations on Saturdays, £35 for single fuel installations on Saturdays, and technical aborts paid at half rate.
Our recruitment process includes an in-person event where you will complete a practical trade test and a short interview with an Area Manager to discuss your experience and motivation, as well as learn more about life as a Smart Meter Engineer with Octopus Energy.

Experience
Proven track record of safety and customer excellence in smart meter installation or related field.

Reliable and motivated to deliver top-class service.
Willingness to work on a rotating call-out schedule and occasional Saturday shifts.
Positive attitude towards learning and adapting to evolving technologies and processes.

Qualifications
MOCoPA certificate held within the last 3 years with evidence.
Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent).
Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
