About the Role
Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer in the new build housing sector, wiring over 24,000 homes annually. Established over 40 years ago, we employ more than 850 staff across the UK and work with the country’s major house builders.
We are expanding our busy Commercial Department and seeking Electrical Design Coordinators or Trainees to help secure additional work and maintain strong customer relationships. Whether you are an experienced electrician, Design Coordinator, or new to the sector looking for a structured career path in Design Coordination with potential progression into management, this role offers a great opportunity.
Working within a team of 30, you will support the Design Manager by completing and following up site designs and revisions. Each Designer manages dedicated customer accounts, ensuring a deep understanding of their requirements and delivering a truly customer-focused service despite our national scale.
Accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent customer service are essential in this highly competitive market with tight margins. The role involves translating winning tenders into accurate information for site teams, representing the company during customer visits and site handovers, and responding promptly to enquiries.
The working environment is fast-paced with a positive team culture similar to a well-run building site. Benefits include shorter working hours, no weekend work, early Friday finishes, and a friendly atmosphere with social events and refreshments available. A passion for long-term career development within the department is highly valued.
Experience
Opportunities available for trainees with no construction experience as well as experienced electricians or Designers. Electrical qualifications are advantageous but not essential for trainees.
