Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus overtime opportunities upon completion of essential company training
About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team within the Wastewater Division. You will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational, benefiting our customers and helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as needed.
- Performing daily planned maintenance and installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying potential risks, and recommending solutions.
- Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and development of staff including apprentices.
- Delivering excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.
All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and call.
Experience
- Time-served electrical apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven ability to fault find, maintain, and repair electrical plant and equipment.
- Experience working safely in compliance with Health and Safety standards.

Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues in the industry.
