Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided
About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team within the Wastewater Division. In this role, you will use your electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work will ensure all sites remain operational, helping to reduce pollution and positively impact Thames Water's environmental footprint.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by adhering to Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as necessary.
- Installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance and identifying potential risks for resolution.
- Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and development support, including involvement in the apprenticeship programme.
- Delivering excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.
All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and call.
Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven ability to work independently, problem solve, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Experience providing technical expertise and communicating effectively with staff and contractors.
- Resilience and adaptability to work pressures and a changing environment.

Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
