Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments. Overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance teams. You will use your electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimum supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

Key responsibilities include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being by complying with Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as needed.
- Installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance and identifying future risks.
- Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and developing staff, including apprentices.
- Delivering excellent customer experience by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.

All necessary PPE, tools, and a company van are provided when on duty and on call.

Requirements

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in electrical engineering.
- 18th Edition qualification preferred, but training can be provided.
- Proven problem solver able to identify and resolve issues or escalate appropriately.
- Excellent communicator providing technical expertise to staff and contractors.
- Resilient and adaptable to work pressures and changing environments.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, using own initiative to design and meet standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- Team player who respects others, provides helpful feedback, and supports development.
- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
Relevant electrical engineering qualifications such as NVQ or C&G Level 3. 18th Edition preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
