
Location
Witney – OX28 5JH, Cotswolds area of the Thames Valley North Wastewater Operations Region.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:36pm, 38 hours per week. Includes working on a call-out rota with additional payment.
Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a close-knit, high-performing team. You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical equipment across wastewater treatment sites operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Your role involves both proactive and reactive maintenance to keep critical assets running and support site resilience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively and reactively maintaining electrical assets across Cotswolds sites.
- Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs efficiently to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults.
- Servicing and replacing assets such as pumps, 3-phase motors, starters, electronic control systems (VSDs), automatic valves, penstocks, measurement devices, PLCs, variable speed drives, and chemical dosing equipment.
- Supporting local maintenance teams with planned and breakdown maintenance on electromechanical wastewater assets.
- Providing technical advice and training support to the wider team.
- Undertaking fault diagnostics and resolving issues promptly.
- Interpreting and updating electrical drawings.
- Providing timely daily feedback on work completed.
- Monitoring treatment processes using the SCADA system and responding to alarms.
All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided. Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours standby rota is required after training and assessment, with additional payment.

Experience
Considerable experience in electrical and systems maintenance. Proven ability in maintaining, testing, installing, and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently. Experience working with 3-phase electrical systems.
Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policies and processes are essential. Experience working in confined spaces is required, with successful completion of appropriate training.

Physical fitness is required due to the nature of the work. Participation in a 24/7 standby rota after training is essential. A full UK driving licence is mandatory.
Qualifications
Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering sector or equivalent. NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical engineering. Qualifications in BS7671 or 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations are required. Role-specific training will be provided to meet safety and team competency requirements.
