Location
Mobile role across multiple sites in the Thames Valley area including Reading, Oxford, Swindon, Aylesbury and surrounding locations. Contractually based at Newbury STW, Lower Way, Thatcham, RG19 3TS.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus Standby rota payments. Overtime opportunities available, increasing earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £42,000 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities.

About the Role
Join Thames Water’s Pumping Stations Technical Support team as an experienced Electrical Technician. You will play a key role in ensuring Sewage Pumping Stations operate efficiently and that site information is accurately fed back to internal systems for remote monitoring. This fast-paced and varied role involves reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, installation of new plant and equipment, and recording work and asset information to improve business performance. You will provide specialist technical advice, coach and develop staff including apprentices, and deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Health and safety compliance is paramount, and you will be expected to uphold Thames Water’s safety standards at all times. The role offers extensive training and development opportunities in a supportive environment. All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.

Requirements

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical engineering.
- Experience working on 3-phase electrical systems and electrical control panels.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.

Qualifications
- Electrical qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical engineering.
- 18th Edition wiring regulations preferred but training can be provided.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
