Location
Isleworth, London (Base location: Mogden STW, Twickenham). This role requires travel to multiple sites depending on projects. A full driving licence, access to a vehicle, and insurance for work travel are required. A monthly car allowance is provided.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

Salary
Up to £64,500 per annum, including car allowance, depending on experience and skills.

About the Role
This role seeks a self-motivated candidate to manage engineering projects end-to-end across Thames Water’s operational sites and estate. You will manage all aspects of CAPEX projects, including initial scoping, competitive tendering, contractor procurement, site setup and inductions, health and safety inspections, commissioning, training, and handover to operations teams. The internal job title is ‘Project Engineer’ within the Capital Maintenance Project Team.
- Manage and deliver a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical, and ICA projects, typically valued between £100,000 and £1 million each.
- Responsible for multiple live projects simultaneously, with additional projects in scoping and tendering phases.
- Develop innovative and modern solutions to operational challenges, improving site efficiency and delivering value for customers.
- Collaborate with operations teams and contractors to scope, define, and cost cost-effective, low-risk solutions.
- Oversee a zero-compromise health and safety policy, including monthly audits.
- Ensure construction compliance with in-house policies, wider industry standards, and CDM regulations.
- Work collaboratively with delivery partners and contractors to ensure timely scheme delivery.
- Maintain compliance with Asset Standards, British & International Standards, and professional codes of conduct.
- Perform financial forecasting and reporting on the value of work done (VOWD).
- Draft, vet, and approve pre-construction information, project programs, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and construction phase plans (CPP).
- Oversee commissioning, training, and handover of completed projects to operations teams.
- Ensure completion documents such as test certificates, operation and maintenance manuals, health and safety files, and as-constructed drawings are available and handed over.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in Construction or Engineering Project Management.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including internal colleagues, site employees, and external contractors.
- Understanding of Health and Safety standards related to construction works, including CDM regulations (additional training provided).

Qualifications
- Preferably a background in Engineering such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Formal qualifications strongly encouraged, ideally at least a BTEC/HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Clean Water Processing and/or Wastewater Treatment is advantageous.
