About the Role
This role provides leadership across all aspects of financial reporting and financial control for the South Downs contract, working as a member of the Treatment South Finance team in close partnership with the operational business. You will lead a team of three people - one qualified accountant and two accounting technicians - managing all aspects of their roles including setting objectives, monitoring performance, and conducting progress reviews. Key responsibilities include production of monthly management accounts delivered to tight deadlines with sound analysis and investigation of results and variances for multiple operational units including group consolidation processes. You will conduct regular site visits and interact with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business development. Additional duties include supporting business operations in preparation for annual budgets and forecasts, statutory accounts preparation for two legal entities, liaising with Group auditors, ensuring compliance with Group financial policies and procedures, performing regular balance sheet reviews, working with clients on contract performance and annual contractual reconciliations, monitoring cash flow forecasting, controlling and reporting capital expenditure, financial analysis of operational data and KPIs, post investment financial review, collaborating with analysts and the Digital Transformation team to ensure accuracy of non-financial data and successful project implementation, and carrying out ad hoc project work to support business objectives.

Experience
Significant post-qualified experience including people management of a team. Experience in Business Partnering and a broad grounding of finance professional experience is essential. High degree of system and data handling skills, particularly with standard office software products and ERP systems. Broad system skills with preferred working knowledge of Workday and SAP.

A self-driven individual with strong presentation, communication and organisational skills. Strategic planning and leadership capabilities are required to effectively manage the team and support business objectives.

Qualifications
Qualified accountant status is required to lead the finance team and manage statutory accounts preparation.
