About the Role

As a Mechanical Technician, you will work as part of a team, often with two engineers, across a range of sites. Your responsibilities will include assisting with inspections, servicing, and repairs of customers' dewatering machines, mechanical repairs and modifications to pumps, pipework, valves, and ancillary equipment. You will assist with pipework installations using plastic, stainless steel, and mild steel materials.
You will undertake standby cover and overtime as required, with flexibility to work away from home. Additional duties include completing test reports, installation certificates, and customer feedback documents, working alongside on-site customer teams, and acting as a point of contact for customers.
Your role will also involve maintaining and repairing dewatering equipment and ancillaries at sewage and clean water treatment facilities, ensuring energy-efficient operation of assets, minimising downtime and pollution risks, and reducing raw material usage through thorough service and maintenance tasks. You will provide front line care and maintenance of customer dewatering assets to keep them in optimum working condition.
Safe and effective operation of a range of assets in line with company procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and health and safety requirements is essential. You will also operate mobile hire equipment safely and in accordance with operational and compliance standards.
This role requires flexibility, including willingness to undertake standby cover, overtime, and occasional periods working away from home.
Experience
Previous experience working in an industrial environment or newly qualified in Mechanical Engineering is essential. Experience maintaining equipment typically found on water and sewage treatment plants is desirable.
About you
Possess a full UK Driving Licence. Willingness to work flexibly including standby cover, overtime, and occasional travel away from home. Ability to work well within a team and liaise effectively with customers on site.
Qualifications
NVQ or recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 2 is desirable. Confined Space Training and First Aid training are advantageous but not essential.
