About the Role
Cundall’s leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business and a recognised leader in sustainability worldwide. Our team is passionate about designing innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions that minimise the use of natural resources. We are looking for graduates who want to make a positive impact on the environment and contribute to sustainable homes, offices, industry, and communities.

As a Graduate Sustainability Engineer, you will join our Sustainability Team and work on innovative and award-winning projects such as the Hong Kong Science Park, Australia’s first 6 star Green Star community, and the largest biomedical precinct in the Southern Hemisphere.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in energy modelling and assist with energy and sustainability strategies for new and existing buildings. You will work across various workstreams including building physics and parametric modelling, building performance and operational energy optimisation, certification and compliance, health and wellbeing guidance, net zero and whole life carbon services, and sustainability design and ESG services.

Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and autonomy as your skills develop. You will also be supported to work towards Chartership through one of our accredited training schemes.

Requirements

Experience
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree. Desirable to have or be working towards a BEng/MEng degree in Sustainable Engineering, the Built Environment, or an equivalent qualification. Demonstrable knowledge of building physics, especially heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort, and natural ventilation. Experience or knowledge of climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation using TM54, sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM, and life cycle carbon costing is beneficial.

Familiarity with digital engineering is highly valued. Ideally, you will have an understanding of Parametric Modelling Techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo) or proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).

About you
Organised and methodical in managing tasks and priorities, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines. Collaborative and empathetic, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive and positive, using your initiative to overcome challenges and contribute to team success.

Qualifications
Must have the right to work in the UK as sponsorship is not provided for this role. On course to achieve or holding a relevant degree in Sustainable Engineering, Built Environment, or equivalent.
