About the Role
Join a highly successful groundwater business within Tetra Tech’s geo-environmental team of approximately 100 professionals operating nationally across the UK and Ireland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and manage key client accounts including high-profile groundwater frameworks with water utility companies and major projects such as the United Utilities £170M Ground Investigation Framework and Thames Tideway Tunnel Environmental Compliance Monitoring Contract.

As a Groundwater Site Engineer or Hydrogeologist, you will focus on the technical delivery, management, growth, and development of groundwater services. This consultant or senior position (Consultant or Senior grade depending on experience) involves providing professional advice and site supervision for the feasibility, design, investigation, testing, procurement, and construction/implementation of large public and private supply borewells and production wells.

You will supervise the survey, testing, and construction of large production wells (up to 1m diameter and 300m depth), including down-hole geophysical and CCTV surveys, and testing water wells with flow rates up to 7MLD. The role requires a sound understanding of UK and Northern Irish groundwater abstraction regulatory and licensing regimes and experience managing site works of similar nature and scale.

This is a dynamic consultancy environment offering opportunities to develop project management and leadership skills while working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role requires a confident, enthusiastic, and self-motivated professional with strong technical, commercial, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Proficient in writing interpretative reports supporting abstraction licence applications for private and public supplies and new well fields.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to present observations and recommendations clearly to senior management and clients.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a large multi-disciplinary team.

About you
- Enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated with strong technical and commercial skills.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to different project requirements and willing to travel.
- High level of personal responsibility and a team player.

Qualifications
- Relevant degree as stated above.
- Significant relevant experience or equivalent expertise in groundwater consultancy, particularly groundwater resource development and exploitation in the UK and Ireland.

Desirable
- Extensive experience in borehole design, testing, pumping test analysis, and construction.
