About the Role
We are recruiting an HGV Trade Driver to join our team in Linwood. In this role, you will safely and competently operate assigned vehicles on allocated routes in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner. Key responsibilities include reporting any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents promptly to enable full investigation and prevent re-occurrence. You will complete daily pre-start vehicle inspections and submit reports to the Transport department, report all accidents, vehicle defects, and breakdowns.

Your duties will involve operating HGV vehicles to collect, transport, and deliver waste materials between designated locations, ensuring compliance with Duty of Care regulations by inspecting waste and completing waste transfer notes. You will be responsible for sheeting all loads to ensure secure transit of waste on the public highway and completing relevant tickets or using handheld devices as appropriate, obtaining customer signatures.

Maintaining health, safety, and welfare standards in accordance with the Company’s safety policy, Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures, and Instructions is essential. You will also maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab, assist in the control and coordination of work to ensure efficiency and productivity, and deliver excellent customer service. Additional duties may be assigned as required, provided they align with your qualifications and training.

Experience
Proven experience operating HGV vehicles in a professional and safe manner is required.

You should have a professional and organised approach, good time management skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Effective communication skills, initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are essential. Flexibility and commitment to the role are also important.

Qualifications
Class 2 LGV driving licence
Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
