Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £47,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician to join our Wastewater team based at Greenwich Storm. You will work alongside multi-disciplinary teams including systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians. Your responsibilities will include installing, modifying, and commissioning new plant equipment to relevant standards, diagnosing and repairing faults on systems and plants, and proactively identifying and reporting works for enhancement. You will deliver cost-effective improvements to assets and systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
You will record work and asset information to improve business performance, identify potential risks, and recommend changes. Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, and training staff including apprentices will be part of your role. Delivering an excellent customer experience by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers is essential.

Experience
- Proven experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Knowledge and experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), including management and programming.
- Experience reading and fault finding from circuit diagrams.
- Previous experience with inverter drives.
- Understanding of Wonderware and Clear SCADA is desirable.

Qualifications
- Qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an instrumentation, control and automation discipline.
- Preferably holds an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
