About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician to join our waste pumping team based at Crossness. You will work on all aspects of technology including installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs. Technologies include SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, associated PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), process control networks, and instrumentation.
You will collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams alongside operational teams such as systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out instrumentation, control, and automation maintenance on a variety of water production assets including planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance.
- Liaising with and supervising contractors and suppliers when necessary.
- Investigating plant failures and implementing repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid interruptions to the supply process.
- Conducting risk assessments and creating method statements to safely carry out maintenance activities.
- Providing specialist technical advice with up-to-date knowledge and supporting training for technical trainees.
- Supporting project development and contributing to capital delivery projects.

All PPE, tools, van, and fuel card are provided.

Experience
- Strong practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Experience with Wonderware (desirable), ClearSCADA, relay logic, and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), including management and programming.
- Ability to read and fault find from circuit diagrams.
- Experience with inverter drives.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure levels, ultrasonics, and telemetry.

- Able to work across multiple sites within the assigned region.
- A valid driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role.

Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or holding City and Guilds Part 2 or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical subject.
