Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities available, potentially increasing earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £57,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician to join our clean water team. Based in Hampton, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams including systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians. Your responsibilities will include installing, modifying, and commissioning new plant equipment to relevant standards, diagnosing and repairing faults on systems and plants, and proactively identifying and reporting works for enhancement. You will contribute to delivering cost-effective improvements to assets and systems, helping to reduce pollution and improve Thames Water's environmental impact.
Key duties include ensuring health and safety compliance, carrying out planned and defect maintenance on wastewater assets, recording work and asset information to improve business performance, providing specialist technical advice, coaching and developing staff including apprentices, and delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Experience
- Proven experience in instrumentation, control, and automation maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), including management and programming.
- Calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams and experience with inverter drives.
- Knowledge of Wonderware and Clear SCADA is desirable.

Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an instrumentation, control, and automation discipline.
- Preferably holds an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
