Location
North East London region, covering Water Treatment Works and borehole sites around Chingford, Walthamstow, Waltham Abbey, and Stonebridge Park. Contractually based at Coppermills Water Production site near Walthamstow.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby duties with opportunities for overtime.

Salary
Up to £47,000 per annum depending on skills and experience, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000 to £10,000 through standby rota payments and overtime upon completion of essential company training.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team. This mobile role involves working safely and efficiently with minimal supervision to maintain water production assets and ensure compliance with statutory obligations and manufacturer standards. Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of assets such as level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors. You will work with SCADA systems, PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), and process control networks, liaising with contractors and suppliers as needed. The role also involves investigating asset failures and implementing repairs promptly to avoid supply interruptions, providing specialist technical advice, and supporting the training of technical apprentices. All necessary PPE, tools, a company van, and fuel card are provided.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), including management and programming.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Ability to read and fault find using circuit diagrams.
- Previous experience with inverter drives is desirable.
- Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Experience working with SCADA systems such as Wonderware and ClearSCADA is desirable.

Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in instrumentation, control and automation discipline.
- Preferably holds an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
