Location
North East London region, including Water Treatment Works and borehole sites around Chingford, Walthamstow, Waltham Abbey, and Stonebridge Park. Contractually based at Coppermills Water Production site near Walthamstow.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby duties with opportunities for overtime.

Salary
Up to £47,000 per annum depending on skills and experience, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000 to £10,000 through standby rota payments and overtime upon completion of essential company training.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team. This mobile role involves working safely and efficiently with minimal supervision across multiple sites to maintain asset availability and meet statutory obligations. Key responsibilities include installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of water production assets such as level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors. You will work with SCADA systems, PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), and process control networks, liaise with contractors and suppliers, investigate asset failures, and implement repairs promptly to avoid supply interruptions. Additionally, you will provide specialist technical advice and training support for apprentices. All necessary PPE, tools, a company van, and fuel card are provided.

Experience
- Proven experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley), including management and programming.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Ability to read and fault find from circuit diagrams.
- Previous experience with inverter drives is desirable.
- Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Experience working safely and efficiently in a similar technical environment.

Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in instrumentation, control, and automation discipline.
- Preferably holds an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
- Understanding of Wonderware and ClearSCADA is desirable.
