Location
North East London region, including Water Treatment Works and borehole sites around Chingford, Walthamstow, Waltham Abbey, and Stonebridge Park. Contractually based at Coppermills Water Production site near Walthamstow.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby. Opportunity to increase earnings by £8,000 to £10,000.

Salary
Up to £47,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team. This mobile role involves working safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimal supervision to maintain statutory obligations and asset availability. You will install, commission, maintain, and repair water production assets such as level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors. The role includes working with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks, liaising with contractors and suppliers, investigating asset failures, and implementing timely repairs to avoid water supply interruptions. You will also provide specialist technical advice, maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, and support training for technical apprentices. All PPE, tools, a company van, and a fuel card are provided.

Requirements

Experience
- Knowledge and experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley), including management and programming.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams.
- Previous experience with inverter drives.
- Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Experience working with or knowledge of Wonderware and ClearSCADA is desirable.

Qualifications
- Ideally qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an instrumentation, control and automation discipline.
- Preferably holds an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
