Location
North East London region, including Water Treatment Works and borehole sites around Chingford, Walthamstow, Waltham Abbey, and Stonebridge Park. Contractually based at Coppermills Water Production site near Walthamstow.

Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby. Opportunity to increase earnings by £8,000 to £10,000.

Salary
Up to £47,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team. This mobile role involves working safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision to maintain statutory obligations and asset availability to manufacturers' standards. Responsibilities include installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of water production assets such as level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors. You will work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks, liaise with contractors and suppliers, investigate asset failures, and implement repairs promptly to avoid water supply interruptions. The role also involves providing specialist technical advice, maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge, and supporting training for technical apprentices. All PPE, tools, a company van, and a fuel card are provided.

Experience
- Knowledge and experience working with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley), including management and programming.
- Experience in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
- Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams.
- Previous experience with inverter drives.
- Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
- Experience working with SCADA systems (Wonderware and ClearSCADA desirable).
- Ability to investigate asset failures and implement solutions efficiently.
